A Highly Compatible Compressor Oil SIROCCO™ is a revolutionary compressor oil specially formulated to be compatible with the vast majority of compressor oils currently available on the market. It is compatible with mineral oils and synthetic oils, including glycol-based compressor oils such as Sullair Sullube 32® and Ingersoll-Rand SSR Ultra Coolant®, and requires no flushing when changing over from these lubes. SIROCCO™ is designed to work in virtually every make and model of rotary screw compressors. Rotary screw compressor lubricants typically require elevated levels of rust and oxidation protection because compressor oils can get extremely hot. If these oils are not protected by oxidation resistant additive systems, they form carbon deposits which significantly reduce oil life. Because SIROCCO™ has been formulated with outstanding oxidation protection, it is well suited for compressors that call for an ISO-32 or ISO-46 compressor oil. The nature of compressed air also poses serious challenges to any compressor lubricant. When air is compressed, humidity in the air is also compressed and forms moisture inside the compression chamber. This moisture eventually builds up to contamination levels and saturates the compressor lubricant. Because this entrained water can cause rusting, increased wear, and a breakdown in lubricant film protection, the compressor lubricant must readily separate from water. Test results clearly demonstrate that SIROCCO™ provides much better demulsibility than other leading glycol-based compressor oils. And SIROCCO™ Compressor Oil is biodegradable, ensuring an enviromentally friendly condensate discharge, which reduces the hazardous waste disposal concerns common with glycol-based compressor oils.
